The Gentlemen season 2: release date, cast and what changes in Italy

Two and a half years after Eddie Halstead inherited a dukedom and a weed farm under it, Guy Ritchie’s crime comedy is back. Netflix has confirmed the date, the episode count and a cast list that has grown considerably. Here is what is actually official.
When does The Gentlemen season 2 come out?
Season 2 arrives on Netflix on Thursday 3 September 2026, with all eight episodes released at once. No weekly rollout, no split season: it is a binge drop, the same as season 1 was in March 2024.
That means one evening in your calendar rather than eight, which is either very good news or a problem for your Thursday, depending on your self control.

Eight episodes, matching season 1. Netflix confirmed the count alongside the release date and the first teaser in July, and the official announcement on Tudum carries the first-look images.

Where season 2 picks up
A year has passed. Eddie and Susie are running Bobby Glass’s operation together and pushing to expand it overseas, which is what takes the whole thing to Italy. Netflix’s synopsis adds one ominous line: the decisions Bobby is making seem to be increasingly unsound.
The Italian move is the big structural change. Season 1 worked because it kept everything inside one very English world of country estates, boxing gyms and people being extremely polite immediately before something violent happened. Season 2 drops that cast into an unfamiliar country, opposite mafia boss Marco Moretti and a fixer called Cico Maldini, with none of the home advantage that made Eddie’s improvising work the first time.
Who is coming back
The core is intact. Theo James returns as Eddie, Kaya Scodelario as Susie Glass, and Daniel Ings as Freddy, whose capacity for making things worse was season 1’s most reliable engine.
Also confirmed back: Ray Winstone as Bobby Glass, Giancarlo Esposito, Joely Richardson, Vinnie Jones, Jasmine Blackborow, Michael Vu, Harry Goodwins, Ruby Sear and Pearce Quigley.

The Eubank casting is the one people will talk about, and it is entirely in keeping with a show that already gave Vinnie Jones a shotgun and a gamekeeper’s coat. The Italian additions, Castellitto, Porcaroli and Morrone in particular, signal how much of the season is genuinely set there rather than using Italy as a two-episode detour.
Is season 1 worth a rewatch first?
Only lightly. Season 2 opens a year later with a clean premise, so you do not need the plot mechanics of the Glass family’s distribution network fresh in your head. What is worth remembering is where Eddie and Susie left things, because the whole season rests on that partnership holding up under pressure in a country where neither of them has any leverage.

How not to get spoiled on an eight episode drop
