Shows you might like: TrackShows now does recommendations

TrackShows has always been deliberately quiet about telling you what to watch. The What’s On tab shows what is trending, what the community rates highest and what people are talking about, but none of it knew anything about you. That was a point of pride, and also, if we are honest, occasionally a gap: when you finish a show and want something similar, global charts are not much help.
TrackShows 1.15.0 closes that gap. What’s On now opens with two new rails: Shows you might like and Movies you might like.
How it works
The suggestions are built from what you already track. Your most recent follows seed the show rail; your movie watchlist and watch history seed the movie one. A title that matches several of the things you follow ranks above one that matches only a single show, so the more you track, the sharper the rails get.
Two rules keep it useful. Nothing you already follow, have watched or have stopped is ever suggested, so the rails are always genuinely new to you. And the rails only appear once you follow something: a brand-new account sees no half-empty guesswork, just the usual charts.
Private by design
Nothing about this is stored or profiled. The rails are computed fresh from your follows each time you open the tab, no viewing profile is built up anywhere, and your data is never shared with anyone else. Turn your follows over and the suggestions simply change with them.
We also want to be clear about what this is not. There is still no algorithmic feed in TrackShows: your On Next list and Library remain exactly what you chose to follow, in the order you left them. The suggestions live on What’s On, the tab you visit when you are actually looking for something new, and nowhere else.
Where to find it
Open the What’s On tab in the web app and the rails are at the top, above Top rated and Trending. On Android they arrive with the 1.15.0 update. The full release history is on the changelog, and if there is something you want TrackShows to do next, the feature request board in the app is open.
